Instructional Design Models? There are scores of them. This website lists the most widely used of the bunch.

If teaching, which model is the closest to that you are doing already?

Please rank them from what you think is the most useful to the least useful for you to design instruction.

Post your response to this forum.

Also, mention at least two things you do not understand in the descriptions of these models.

If you can respond to your classmates' "two things" then that will be good too.

My Response:

I have been using the SAM Model for designing websites and instructional materials often feedback is very helpful. It seems that this model can be applied to developing projects, as well as lesson plans.

1 ADDIE Model

2 Gagné's 9 Events of Instruction

3 Action Mapping

4 SAM Model

5 Dick and Carey Model

6 Kirkpatrick's Four Levels of Training Evaluation

7 Merrill's First Principles of Instruction

8 Bloom's Taxonomy

9 Kemp's Instructional Design Model

  1. When looking at the image of Kemp’s Instructional Design Model I get very confused as the text above the image does not go into detail explaining the outer circles in the image and I think I would need to see how the Kemp’s Instructional Design Model is used.

  2. I do not understand the image of the flowchart in the Action Mapping Model it seems like they have extraneous icons in the model. After reading the description and going to the link and reading what the website had written I think I understand Action Mapping.
