I have learned these topics from rereading Chapter 1

• Technology has its place and instructors need to know when to use certain technologies so that students will not feel overwhelmed with too much content.

• E-learning has two different forms which are asynchronous and synchronous. Asynchronous is e-learning designed for self-study and synchronous learning is instructor-led e-learning.

• Students in well-designed and well-implemented online courses learned significantly more, and more effectively, than those in online courses where teaching and learning activities were not carefully planned.

I want to learn more about and understand these topics:

• I do not understand what instructional strategies I can use for learners with little prior knowledge and those that are relatively experienced. (Pg. 24)

• I would like to learn more about the factor that affects e-learning and what are the best ways to resolve them. (Pg. 25)

• I do not understand why new knowledge remains inaccessible to those who are producing or evaluating online learning wouldn’t there be a database on the internet that these people can access this new knowledge. (Pg. 25)
